I was really hoping for some even more unhinged Obama rumors to surface in the few days before the election, but so far nothing has surpassed the satanist/mesmerist/Malcolm X charges that everyone knows about already. Here's a jokey one, but I seek the real thing. And in the same vein (I think), there's this:

Only a couple more days of this...I am ready for it to be over.

White nationalists for Obama; Jews for white nationalism

OK, this is just weird:

Obama, he said, "is smart enough to try to have a kind of aracial presidency. ..."I think he's got the right touch, absolutely the right touch."He continued: "People are so eager to have a man who can really unite America as he promises to do that I think they will forgive him those things, and I'm not sure I wouldn't be prepared to forgive him those things too. He's an intelligent and serious man and he realizes that he cannot be a 'black' president."

Apparently the Obama magic extends even to the ability to charm neo-Nazi shitheads. That is kind of scary.

Non-Obama related, but also weirding me out in the linked article:

The last gathering ended with long-simmering hostilities between neo-Nazis and Jewish white nationalists spilling into the open.

Jewish white nationalists! I guess there is some number Jews who really, really hate the schvartzers; to the point where they are ready to make common cause with Nazis. More on this curious phenomenon.

I Am You

I'm reading Douglas Hofstadter's new book I Am A Strange Loop, and hope to review it here soon. One of the works he references (skeptically) is I Am You, by a philosopher named Daniel Kolak who I hadn't heard of before. Apparently Kolak's thesis is that there is exactly one person in the universe and we are all him/her/it. This is a strange idea but one that occurred to me years ago as a possible consequence of reincarnation.

Actually, this is an old idea that has occurred to many, from the writers of the Upanishads to Wittgenstein and Freeman Dyson, so it isn't that weird.

I recall a passage from Illuminatus:
"If all is one, then all violence is masochism."
"Yes, and all sex is masturbation."

But it's too easy to do reductio ad absurdums to this, and I admire anybody who would devote themselves to such an easily-mockable idea. I'd like to check out his book but it's $300 on Amazon, out of my price range for something of only whimsical interest. But when I thought about it, I realized that I didn't need to read the book since if its thesis is true, I've not only already read it, I've written it.

And we are working on getting every possible intersection of human groups, such as this lovely find: the Mormon Transhumanist Association. The mind boggles. I'm sure the lesbian midget catlovers group is out there somewhere too.
